Richmond Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association The Richmond Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association ("RFCPA") is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating and executing programs designed to improve the quality of life for people with fibromyalgia.
The Richmond Fibromyalgia Support Group, the primary outreach of RFCPA, has been a resource in the Richmond area since 2003, providing education, support, and a connection with others who understand the challenges of living with chronic pain. Today, the group has over 400 registered members, and offers three daytime meetings and one evening meeting each month.
RFCPA has been instrumental in obtaining proclamations from the City of Richmond (since 2008) and the Governor of Virginia (since 2010) designating May 12 as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
RFCPA works collaboratively with the National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association, and the Leaders Against Pain Action Network of NFMCPA, to provide the most up-to-date information and resources for both members and the public.
